The Reagan Show (2017)
Editor, Associate Producer - Directed by Pacho Velez and Sierra Pettengill
The Reagan Show is about a prolific Hollywood actor’s defining role: Leader of the Free World. Told entirely through archival footage from the eighties, including a largely-unseen trove of footage from the in-house White House videographers, the film follows Reagan's public relations battle with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. A Gravitas Ventures and CNN Films release.
Along with fellow editors Francisco Bello and David Barker, I was nominated for a Cinema Eye Honors award for documentary editing.
The film premiered in the World Documentary Competition at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival and won the David Carr Award for Truth in Non-Fiction Filmmaking at the Montclair Film Festival. It premiered internationally at Locarno and also played in Kosovo, Seattle, AFI Docs, Nantucket, and the DocYard in Cambridge. Previously, the film won the Camden Film Festival Points North pitch competition and received support from CNN Films, Impact Partners, the LEF Moving Image Fund, Catapult Film Fund, Tribeca All Access grant, Cinereach, and the Sundance Documentary Fund.
